Pedestal Glass Dining Table

Freestanding or Pedestal Tabletops

We always recommend tempered glass for tabletops because it is less prone to breakage. Glass that is tempered will also be able to withstand heat and cold temperatures. For stand-alone or pedestal glass tops, 3/8" or 1/2" thick glass is a good choice. Standard clear glass has a slight green tint compared to low-iron which is completely transparent.

Wood Tabletops

If planning to set a glass top on your wooden dining table or counter a 1/4" thick glass is most popular. A variety of custom polishes, bevels, and edges are available for you to style your glass tabletop however you desire.  It is a less expensive alternative than having your wood furniture refinished. You can even cover up scratched or damaged surfaces with tinted, color laminated, or backpainted glass. Grey, bronze, and frosted glass can obscure water stains or marks.
